From July 11th-14th, Aronimink Swim Club (ASC) hosted their 3rd annual H.O.P.E. Week. ASC raised over $3,700 (and counting!) for local families with cancer!
H.O.P.E. Week was filled with two swim meets, a lap-a-thon and much more! Throughout the week, the kids learned about the importance of Honor, Optimism, Perseverance and Energy: H.O.P.E. The week culminated with the Laps of Hope Lap-A-Thon, a high-energy morning filled with music, swimming, dancing, a belly flop contest… the list goes on. It was a day to celebrate the team’s fundraising efforts. ($3,700+ is definitely something to celebrate!)
During Laps of Hope, ASC Swim Coach, Patrick Maguire, gave his thoughts on this week.
“I love this week. It’s a great event. It’s awesome to raise money and see the kids come out. Everyone’s in full force for it. It’s awesome to see all the support.”
It’s incredible to see not only the kids get excited for the week, but also the coaches! The coaches of the Aronimink Swim Team do an amazing job of getting the kids excited to raise money and swim laps for families with cancer.
Stephanie Viola, Head Coach at ASC and great friend of BHH, says…
“I love Bringing Hope Home. I’ve been involved with Bringing Hope Home I think for about 5 years now. I think it’s one of the best organizations around because we know where the money is going, we know that the money is helping families that really, really need it.”
In addition to the coaches, the kids also play a huge part in providing unexpected amazingness throughout the week. Kids spend the entire week raising money and swimming laps.
Chiara Mancuso is a member of the Aronimink Swim Team, and was asked how she personally contributed to H.O.P.E. Week.
“Yesterday at our swim meet I bought a Bringing Hope Home swim cap for $10, and then today I donated $50 to Bringing Hope Home. I also bought a pair of sunglasses for $7!”
Just like Chiara, many of the kids bought BHH swag, fundraised, and swam laps of hope.
It’s safe to say Aronimink Swim Team’s H.O.P.E. Week was filled with Unexpected Amazingness. Bringing Hope Home would like to thank the swimmers and the coaches for being a part of Hope Squad! See you next year!
