The Emmanuel Cancer Foundation provides New Jersey families with children who have a cancer diagnosis a place to turn for comfort and relief through free, supportive services, uniquely tailored to meet the needs of each family. Professional in-home counseling is available even after business hours, and includes advocacy help with insurance companies, medical providers, landlords, etc.. ECF also provides material support such as food, clothing, toys, household items, birthday and holiday gifts, as well as emergency financial assistance for urgent needs.

Fred’s Footsteps helps working families stay on their feet through a child’s illness or injury. We provide direct financial assistance for non-medical expenses, such as household bills, to make up for gaps in income as well as one-time extraordinary expenses, like medical equipment or home modifications. We are the only program in the region that provides this type of bridge—not just momentary help—to families during their time of need.

Ronald McDonald Camp’s mission is to provide a true, week-long overnight camp experience for children who have been treated and are being treated for cancer as well as their siblings, ages 7-17. Our camper-centered program is designed to foster independence, friendship, and community among campers who share a common experience with cancer. Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of the Philadelphia Region supports families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope. The two Ronald McDonald House programs provide temporary lodging, transportation, meals, and social services to families who travel to Philadelphia for pediatric care.

Ryan’s Case for Smiles is one the few volunteer organizations solely dedicated to helping kids feel better to heal better. While other great organizations focus on research and finding a cure, we work to improve the quality of life of children and their families as they undergo treatment. Programs have expanded to include the children’s entire families so they can better navigate and cope with a very difficult experience and avoid long term emotional trauma.
