Guidelines

In order to qualify for the Light of Hope Family Grant Program, Families must:

Live in the geographic area we serve.

Please see exact counties below:
Pennsylvania: Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery & Philadelphia Counties.

New Jersey: Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester & Salem Counties. We can also assist Families living in Northern, NJ who are receiving their treatment at Astera Cancer Care, Hackensack University Medical Center, Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center and Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.

Delaware: Kent, New Castle & Sussex Counties

Connecticut: Fairfield County

Maryland: Families being treated at LifeBridge Health facilities (Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Carroll Hospital, Northwest Hospital, The Herman & Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital at Sinai), Medstar Cancer Network, Ascension St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore VA Medical Center, and the University of Maryland Medical center who live in one of the following counties: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Baltimore City, Carroll, Harford, & Howard Counties.

Maryland: Families being treated at the Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute – Tidal Health who live in one of the following counties: Harford, Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Talbot, Caroline, Dorchester, Wicomico, Somerset & Worcester Counties.

New York: Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Westchester & Bronx Counties

Have a cancer diagnosis and undergoing active treatment at the time of referral. Active treatment includes currently receiving chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, or stem cell therapy. BHH also assists Families who have had a recent bone marrow transplant or recent cancer surgery within the past 2 months, or who are receiving hospice care.

Be referred by a member of their oncology team. This can be a social worker, clinician, or healthcare professional.

Be aware that this is one-time financial assistance that is used to pay household bills such as rent, mortgage, electric, gas, oil, water, home phone, cell phone, car payment and car insurance. Funds are paid directly to vendors and not given directly to the Family.

Have a financial need that is directly related to their cancer diagnosis.
