Light of Hope Family Program Guidelines

The Light of Hope Family Program provides one-time financial assistance that can be used to pay essential household bills such as rent, mortgage, utility bills, car payment, car insurance, cable and cell phone for Individuals & Families who are in active cancer treatment.

Applicant must have a cancer diagnosis and undergo active treatment at the time of referral. Active treatment includes receiving chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, or stem cell therapy at the time of referral. Families who recently completed treatment within two months of our application acceptance date may also be referred. Families who have had a recent bone marrow transplant or recent cancer surgery within the past two months, or who are receiving hospice care can be referred for assistance.

Referrals must come from a social worker, clinician, or medical healthcare professional at the hospital where active treatment is taking place.

Bills we cannot assist with: Credit card bills, medical bills, personal property and school taxes.  

General Service Area: Individuals & Families must reside in one of the following States and counties:

  • Pennsylvania
    Counties:
    Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, & Philadelphia
  • New Jersey
    Counties:
    Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester & Salem Counties
  • Delaware
    Counties:
    Kent, New Castle & Sussex Counties
