This holiday season we were thrilled to deliver gifts to 141 local families battling cancer through the 2013 Adopt-A-Family Program. All of this was made possible by the 175 companies, organizations, schools, and individuals that came together to fundraise, shop, wrap and make deliveries to our 2013 family recipients. We could not have done this without the generosity of our supporters.
In addition, this year was extra special because BHH Light of Hope Family Grant recipients that we have helped in the past were paying it forward this year and were able to help us wrap & deliver gifts to other families in need.
Kevin McGuire is a beautiful example of this.
Kevin and his family were helped in June of 2012. Kevin was undergoing a marrow transplant and was ready to come home when they found out there was mold in the bathroom, and Kevin could not return home until it was alleviated. Thanks to Bringing Hope Home and the extremely generous team at ServiceMASTER by ARTec, not only was the mold removed, but ServiceMASTER completely remodeled the McGuire’s bathroom. You can watch a video of the McGuire’s story here.
The Courier Post just did an article on Kevin’s inspiring journey and how he was able to deliver gifts to another family in need over the holidays. A special thanks to the Courier Post for capturing this heart warming story that truly captures what the holidays are all about!
