The Aronimink Swim Club paired with Bringing Hope Home to kick off their annual H.O.P.E week to help raise money for families with cancer the best way they knew, through swimming! Each of the swimmers were encouraged to raise $50 to help families in need by selling Bringing Hope Home swim caps and t-shirts and by creating online fundraising pages they could share with family and friends. To celebrate their efforts, they swam Laps for Hope where they got to practice their sport, take pictures with their photo booth, create key chains and bracelets with beads signifying the number of laps they swam and so much more! Their efforts raised over $3,000 for our families — AMAZING!
Aronimink’s H.O.P.E Week was not only rewarding for the families that they will be helping, but also for those who participated. Bobby, a member of the swim club who was unable to swim due to an injury, did not let that keep him away from the festivities. Bobby spoke to the swimmers about his experience with BHH and his love for service to help kick off the start of their H.O.P.E week. Bobby stated that he volunteered with BHH for 3 years and participated in the West Chester STOMP and Backpacks for Hope. He explained that fundraising with Bringing Hope Home at a younger age brought out a love for giving back and volunteering, and it has now become an important part of his life.
