During a Teva Pharmaceuticals volunteer expo in April, Eric Dowrick came across Bringing Hope Home’s volunteer table and information on a new program: Boxes of Hope. The idea behind these boxes was that they would serve as “Get Well Soon” packages for families to receive during their cancer treatment and contain fun treats to help get patients’ minds off of their treatment. Eric and his team at Teva were our first group to sign-up!

“We thought this would be a great way to help the oncology patients that we treat with our medication. We have a great team at Teva who I knew would love to help and give back through this project.” -Eric

During the month of July, the Global Regulatory Affairs teams in Frazer and Horsham collected items for their boxes, including colored pencils, adult coloring books, a deck of cards, crossword puzzles, candy, gum, handmade cards with well wishes, magazines, chapstick, mini tissues, and small gift cards for coffee and other treats. Both teams had assembly days to pack and label their boxes as a team and get them ready for delivery. They collected enough items to fill 50 boxes!

This past week, the boxes were delivered to social workers Rachel and Vicki at Doylestown Hospital and Paoli Hospital for them to share with their patients during their treatment.
