Each of our families are a light of hope to us! They are strong, courageous and inspiring. We invite you to meet our Families below! Their videos, stories and thank you notes will give you a glimpse into what makes them so amazing.

Meet Beth

Tell us your story:

I thought I was “healthy” 27 year old: teaching two to three fitness classes a week and eating healthily. I was not on track to get cancer, but I did. In 15 months I had 2 surgeries, 17 chemotherapy treatments, and 31 radiation treatments. During treatment I was able to work full-time, except for when I was inpatient. Focusing on family, friends (aka a ton of weddings), and exercise helped me push towards the end of my chemo finish. My motto during the last eight weeks of chemo was “finish strong” and I’m proud to say that I did finish strong.

What do you want others to know about BHH:

BHH is an amazing organization that continually stays connected to the families they help. The staff and volunteers give their time and energy so genuinely and without a second thought. Although I wish cancer did not exist, knowing that BHH is supporting those affected by cancer, people like me, puts me at ease because I know they are in loving hands!

“An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. When life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means it’s going to launch you into something great. So just focus, and keep aiming.”

Meet Eduardo

We first met Eduardo and his wife, Marysol last summer when he applied for our Light of HOPE Family Grant. Eduardo was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in February 2015. During the first call we had with Eduardo, he had a great spirit about him and such a zest for life. He was so appreciative of the help he received from BHH and wanted to make sure we stayed in touch.

He and his wife Marysol attended a Flyers game and an Eagle games in suites donated to BHH—something he had never done before! Eduardo was one of our models in our 2015 Ella Bella Fashion Show. He was hesitant to model at first but finally agreed to walk the runway and we are so glad that he did! His family drove in from NY to watch him in action and his beautiful smile didn’t leave his face all night! He was an extremely happy and grateful man whose smile lit up the room.

Sadly, we learned that Eduardo passed away a few days ago. His family has since reached out and expressed their extreme gratitude:

“To ‘Bringing Hope Home’ especially Judy and Amy, the Albino Family cannot express the gratitude you’ve given to both Eduardo and Marysol Albino. All of you had provided so much happiness to their lives during those moments when there was no hope. Without your organization and support, they wouldn’t have been able to experience and do the things they thought it was not possible such as, going to the Flyers hockey game and Eagles football game, not just in a regular audience seating but in a suite. And the proudest moment of all was when he was asked to be a model for the Ella Bella Fashion Show. What a moment that was for us to have shared it with all of you, friends, and family.”

Please keep Eduardo’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this hard time. We feel blessed to have him and his wife, Marysol as part of the BHH family and we will remember him forever!‪#‎unexpectedamazingness‬
