The Adopt-A-Family (AAF) Holiday Program pairs community supporters with real families that are struggling due to a cancer diagnosis and are in financial need over the holidays. This program allows supporters to fundraise to pay their adopted family’s household bills, and/or provide gifts and gift cards to their family.
This holiday season we were able to assist 211 local families in need through our Adopt-A-Family Program. This is all thanks to our incredible donors, companies, deliverers, and volunteers.
These families were adopted by over 120 companies, groups and individuals who provided over $145,000 worth of gifts and gift cards to our families. In addition, $ 190,000 was raised to help pay household bills for our families this winter. This could not have been done without the help of our 100+ volunteers who helped to organize, wrap, and deliver the gifts to each of our families’ homes in time for the holiday.
We were so lucky to have such amazing people that helped us to achieve this, from the volunteers that filled our wrapping space for days, to the helpers that stuffed their cars full of gifts to deliver, to those who donated their time and funds. As a volunteer one is able to see firsthand just how much one can truly affect another and how grateful these families are for the help we provide.
